This delicate nativity is made out of recycled glass by José Pinpinco. Mary and Joseph pray before the Christ child, who sleeps on a bed of straw colored gold by the bright light the Christ Child brings to the world. Further surrounding Jesus are an angel with fluttering wings. The magi complete the set.

This colorful nativity is carved from cedar wood and then painted with unique floral motives. Of note is that the Christ child, rather than lying in a manger is placed on a pineapple. The symbolic meaning of a pineapple is welcome, generosity and hospitality. How striking that the child who was not welcomed at the Inn and therefore was born in a stable is placed on a pineapple, the symbol of welcome. The pineapple symbolizes that we welcome the Christ-Child but more importantly that the Christ-Child welcomes us.
