Cut out of a recycled steel drum previously used to hold oil this nativity very succinctly tells the story of the visit by the Magi who offer their gifts to the Holy Family. The artist uses all available space and imaginative perspective to assure that everyone is represented.
This nativity is created using metal from recycled steal oil drums. After visualizing a design, the artist chalks his design onto the flattened metal and then, using only a hammer and chisel, gives it form and dimension. Then the nativity is painted and given an enamel coating.

This nativity set was created by artisans in Burkina Faso. They use old nuts, bolts, and pieces of scrap metal to give the traditional Christmas scene a rather modern appearance.
